Winter Wonderland!!!

The Countdown for Christmas is officially on in my house hold..Still many, many things to get done..wrapping, shopping, baking, but over the last few days I tried to slow down and reflect on what this Season is really all about!! It's not really all about Presents and baking & eating..JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!  We gather
together to celebrate his birth and we show this by giving and gathering and celebrating with one another!!  What an exciting time of the year.. On that note I have been taking in my surroundings and thanking God for all his wonders he has given us all..It's hard to ignore the beauty he gave us when he covers the trees & the ground with glistening snow..Here are some snap shots of the wonders I get to see out my door..

Going down my road is when the beauty of the outdoors hit me & I had to go around our place and take it in.. Enjoy..

After taking time to enjoy the gifts that we have been given I knew it was time to get busy!! This particular day was dedicated to Baskets...Here are a sampling of what we have made for custom Christmas gifts & for our Booth @ SuLaine's Antique Mall..

Well, I better stop playing and start getting busy on all those last minute Creations for Christmas..If I don't get to the blog before Christmas I hope you all have a Blessed Christmas Day!!! And Remember....

Merry Christmas,

CHristmas Wonder!!

Ok folks, so I have almost finished my Christmas Decorating, with Christmas only being two weeks away yikes!!(still have not done the shopping double yikes!) Well I will not fret yet because every year somehow some way it seems to get done just in the "nick" of time.  Well, if you go back to the last post I had been working on a thrift store find redo.  Here is the find below:

I found a set of these and even though they looked kind of sad like a Charlie Brown tree I just could not leave them sitting there on the shelf  I knew they had potential!!! I decided to make some of my own little ornaments for my two Charlie Brown trees..

And this is how they turned out on the trees...

I just love my little Charlie Brown trees with the Hand stamped book page ornaments & the vintage light reflectors added for some Holiday *SHINE*  I added a little lace bow at the base for just the right touch :)  They have there place on our mantle below..

Here are some more peaks into my Country Christmas...

One thing I love about Christmas is *TRADITION*..One of our traditions is to bring out our homemade Christmas stockings with each family members name on it and hang it in it's place on the mantle..This year I thought I would add a little *BLING* to the stockings with glittered initials!

Another Tradition we enjoy like most families is decorating the tree & taking out those old ornaments from our childhood and the handmade one's from our own Children..There is something magical about placing those ornaments on the tree....of course I mixed the old with some new as you can see below...

At the bottom of the tree is my handmade Ruffle tree skirt that I made last year and Love!!! At the top is my stuffed *believe* star & I decided to gather the Hydrangeas(my favorite flower) at the top of the tree this year instead of dispersing them all about the tree.. I think it adds a little pizazz to the top!
Amongst the old & new ornaments I decided to put Beautiful Junque's Christmas flashcards throughout the tree...
Below is one of my favorite ornaments that makes me chuckle every year I put it on...it's my adorable husband :)

And with that I will leave you with one of my favorite Christmas sayings...

I will be stirring to finish all that is left undone in hopes of sharing with you soon some more Christmas fun!!

Blessings,

Chirstmas time How I Love thee....

Hello again,

First off we would like to thank all of you for making the Holiday Open HOuse @ Sulaine's Antique mall a great Success!! We hope that you enjoyed all the goodies as much as we enjoyed creating & displaying them! In the last post if you scroll back you remember me talking about the Christmas decorating finally starting in my house..  Well the tree is nearly trimmed but the rest of the inside is still in the works(will show peeks of inside at a later date)....Because I had to move outside yesterday and get the porch decorated since it was amazing weather yesterday!!! Loved Loved Loved it!!!

So here is what I accomplished on Sunday outdoors..it all started with Clark Griswold... I mean my Husband Nick :) putting up some lights..

Then I took my snippers and went into the woods to collect natures bounty!!  I just love using what we have out our back door to decorate for Christmas!!

I picked up the below sled last year and was pondering on how to display it this year and I think the below turned out well..

Last but not least is my cream double wash tub that gets a new look for each season...

Now I must go decorate the INSIDE of my house..hope you enjoyed my front porch:) Going to finish a little Thrift Store Christmas Find that I am revamping..I seem to be partial to old music sheets & old book pages.. here is a little peek @ this project using old book pages I will show you the finished product next time around...

Blessings,
Alicia & Carol
