A Year in Review!!!

 

 

 

Happy New Year Everyone!!! I know it's been A while, since before Christmas if I'm correct since our last post..phew where does time go?? Well today is a very special day as we are celebrating our 2nd Daughter Ella's 8th Birthday(speaking of where does time go....) She received a special treat by not having any school today!!! So as I reflect on how old my daughters getting and that is is already 2013 I thought this would be a good time to look at how far Beautiful Junque has come in 1 YEAR!!!

It all really began in May 2012 when we opened up are itsy bitsy spot @ Sulaine's Antique Mall In Detroit Lakes MN!! We were so excited & Nervous for this day...Below are some pics of us loading up all the goodies to set up shop & pics of our little space..

Spring was in full boar as we were all set up at Sulaine's & preparing items to be sold @ Beautiful Leaf Garden's In Vergas MN..we were so excited when they asked us to bring out some of our products...Here is some of our displays from Beautiful Leaf Gardens..

Through out this first year my mom & I have gotten to go on several great picking adventures...Oh for the love of JUNK!!!  Here are some of our adventures captured on camera...

I Try to explain the my husband the thrill of the "HUNT" hunt for "JUNK" that is...I told him it's kind of like Your passion for Deer hunting & Thrill of getting the Big Buck...My mom & I Bag our limit every time, just not with a big deer but with junk that has BIG POTENTIAL!!!!
Beautiful Junque's next adventure was setting up shop a few times @ Shady Hollows Flea Market...We had so much fun out there and met great people...Here are some shots of our setup..

We were sad to see the Flea Market Season end..but we were gearing up for Craft show Season... First stop Junk Market in Fargo @ Eco Chic Boutique... What an amazing Experience & we got to meet some awesome Junk LOVERS....

AFTER THIS BIG SHOW & PREPARING TO GEAR UP FOR OUR UPCOMING HOLIDAY SHOWS...WE MADE THE MOVE IN SULAINE'S ANTIQUE MALL TO A BIGGER SPOT...IT WAS EXCITING TO HAVE MORE ROOM FOR MORE BEAUTIFUL JUNQUE..

 

WE DID A FEW CRAFT SHOWS AFTER OUR MOVE INCLUDING, pERHAM..FRAZEE & THE vINTAGE cARNIVAL IN tHIEF rIVER... tHANKS TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL 1ST YEAR!!!  YOU INSPIRE US TO CREATE & WE TRULY HOPE WE HELP YOU BECOME INSPIRED BY YOUR SURROUNDINGS!!

We have many goals for this New Year..One being having our First Barn Sale...we are working on fixing up the front half of our barn for Beautiful Junque's Barn Boutique Sales...Featuring Beautiful Junque's original Creations...Vintage decor..Furniture redo's & much more inspiring decor...  Our hopes is to have the doors open late spring...we will keep you posted on the progress through our blog & Facebook!!!

We Be Junkin'!!!!!

We had an amazing time at the Junk Bonanza!! We met a lot of talented vendors & scored some fabulous finds!!!  We also made it onto the Junk Bonanza Blog for Being the Earliest Non-Early Birds!!!

 

 

We had our car packed to the brim with some great "junk" and can't wait to  put them on display in my house and or booth!!

We had every nook & cranny filled with our small finds!!

ONe of my favorite finds that I have been wanting to get for as far as I can remember is this vintage dress form!!! Some think I am crazy and don't see the beauty in this.. but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!! I think will call her Beauty!!! I love it & "Beauty" will be making her first appearance in our booth very soon!!!

Pickin' & Chickens......

Hello all!  Ok so the last couple weeks we have been getting ready for school to start (hence the last post) & doing a lot of pickin!!!  So I feel like I have not gotten a lot of creating in!!  On the flip side we have a whole lot of new treasures due to our picking adventures this week and last!!  It is true what they say one man's "junk" is another Man or woman's treasure!!  We found alot of fun treasures in this pickin' pile below....

 

 

After this adventure two more came upon us and we seriously felt like the American Pickers at these two Barn Sales!!  We were getting are hands dirty digging through boxes in old barns & Chicken coops.  Here is one thing we came across that made us chuckle..(top right)

 

At the last sale I went to I found many awesome old cupboards and drawers that I thought will be great for organization units.. I can't wait to put them to use!

 

The Top Right photo made us Chuckle..When we found a can of "Cock of the Walk" Tomato Sauce???  You never know what you are going to find... it made me laugh because I have been waiting and waiting for my chickens to lay their eggs & had been just recently talking about this before finding this unique treasure.. Was it a sign?? I think so... Last night my son & I were cleaning out the chicken bedding and putting in the new fresh bedding when to what to our wandering eyes did appear but our first Egg!! Yippee!!



So now that our Hen's are starting to deliver the goods!! We will be delivering some of Beautiful Junque's New "Goods" Soon!! Make sure you check us out @ Sulaine's Antique mall!!  We will keep you posted!!!
